Phonics Blitz Program
The relationship between letters and sounds.
Purpose: Phonics Blitzs improves the students accuracy rate when reading.
Accuracy means "without any errors or mistakes." The lesson are refer to phonic blitz due to how fast the lesson move along at a fast rate. A "blitz" is referred to as an attack , students "attack" phoincs in the lessons that are presented to them.
Why is the accuracy important?
1. Understand what you have read is reading all words accurately.
2. Reading words accurately means
- not to add words
-not guessing at a word
-skipping words
-not leaving parts of a word off
- not reading different words than what is on the page in front of them.
Accuracy Goal for Phonics Blitz
Students will read with a 98% accuracy rate. Students may only miss no more than two words in every 100 words.
Lessons consist of:
-Oral Reading Procedures (passage reading done in one-minute in a partner setting.)
-Letters Sounds
-Difference between a vowel, a consonant, and a diagraph.
